Why Does Russia Want To  Invade Ukraine?

The Invasion began on the 24th of February 2022 when Russia launched a full-size invasion on Ukraine. More than 2870 Ukraine Soldiers have been killed with other than 3700 Ukrainian soldiers wounded. However in Russia the Komsomolskaya Pravda reported that 9,861 soldiers had died, according to the Russia's defence ministry, with a further 16,153 injured.

Ukraine are a massive part in the oil industry therefore Russia wants to use their land and split Ukraine into half. The Russian leader's (Vladimir Putin) initial aim was to overrun Ukraine and depose its government, ending for good its desire to join the Western defensive alliance NATO. But he failed to capture the capital Kyiv and has now shifted his ambitions to Ukraine's east and south.
